The story of Peat

Hi there! I’m Claire, the creator behind Peat Design.

I live in the Highlands, just north of Inverness, in the small Ross-shire town of Evanton.  After spending over a decade in the United States, I returned home with a strong creative drive resulting in the start-up of Peat in 2019.

Everywhere I have lived, (be it the rustic mountains of West Virginia, the ever-changing post-industrial Brooklyn, NYC, or the disjointed suburbs of Chicago) has left its mark on the designs I create and adds to Peat’s eclectic style.

For me, it’s about contrasts—straight lines meeting sharp angles, quiet moments meeting busy streets, nature meeting city life.

At Peat, I create minimalist, geometric jewellery that reflects the connections we share, even when our paths seem to go in different directions. Each piece is a reminder that our lives sometimes go in straight lines and sometimes take off in unexpected sharp angles.  Which brings us to the present… who we are now and how we relate to our surroundings..

If you're drawn to simple, yet meaningful designs that reflect life's journey, I’d love for you to explore Peat. Please don’t hesitate to reach out!
